Greetings to the servants of Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides.

Our work is coming to an end in Los Alamos and soon we will be saying good bye with tears in our eyes. Knowing that it will not be good bye forever but for a short interruption only. And then eternity together with Him who saved us and them that have awaited His appearing.

The church is finished! It stands like a mighty fortress inviting all to enter and find peace and safety. We have built more than just a building here; we have built friendship and trust laced with the love of God in action. Tomorrow we will have baptisms in that church and a high Sabbath it will be for certain. Maranatha has plans to put up 16 more churches and 7 schools this year in various parts of Chile. Tonight Pastor Rigo will preach the last sermon in the old church at the evangelistic meeting. His title tonight is “prayer…how to talk with the one who is the source of everything.” Hearts have been touched and lives are being changed. These people have never experienced any of the blessings that we have brought to them in the last 2 weeks. This morning Carol asked Raoul, the driver of the dental van if he would like his teeth cleaned and checked. He was so surprised at her offer and said that in the 9 months that he has been driving the van to various areas of the county that no one once has offered to do anything for him. Our medical team stopped in at the nursing home after they finished at the regular clinic. They checked each of the elderly patients and also the workers at the home who had requested their service. They went back again tonight to check on an elderly diabetic lady to see if the insulin injection had brought her numbers down. The clinics were filled to standing room only again. As you pass by these folks and look in their eyes you see deep appreciation. On some of the people the look in their eye is one of sadness and pain and it rips a little of your heart out as you touch them in kindness and do as much as you can. It certainly makes one long for Jesus’ coming; this place is not our home and will always be filled with pain.

The Mayor of Los Alamos and the Health Administrator came to have dinner with us tonight. He told us that in the 7 years he has been Mayor that he has never seen a group come to this area to work and help. Los Alamos is far out and the counties in it even farther apart. They both have been such an incredible help to us with all the forms we needed to get into the country and even to get out of the country. Bob spent an enormous amount of time today just getting forms stamped and copied so that we can actually leave here with our equipment. The Mayor brought 50 hats and 50 shirts with the city name and logo on them, along with a calendar for each of us. He refused to let us even make a donation to the Mapuche Indians like we had intended. I don’t think we have ever seen more grateful politicians and residents than these. We gave both dignitaries a framed document stating appreciation for their great work. The Mayor also received a Bible which we all signed; along with a quart of maple syrup that he thought might be alcohol. No, it won’t be good in a glass, only on pancakes Bob said.

A special recognition and document stating above and beyond the call of duty for missionary workers were given to our young people. Abigail, Christian, Amy, Anna, Christa and Carolina were incredibly diligent workers and we are all so proud of them. Our translators from the University were also recognized with a document and a small monetary gift to help with their expenses.

In our clinics today the grand total was 379 patients being seen. The breakdown is as follows: medical 135 glasses 200 and dental 44.

Tonight was the best night yet for the children’s program. Not only were there the most children present but the children sat in rapt amazement as Kim told stories of Noah and heaven. She had a plea for the children to accept Jesus and all of them wanted to have Jesus in their heart. Bibles were handed out to the children that brought friends with them. Also each child received a gift as they left the program for the last night. The little girls received a pretty fluffy flower and each boy received a hot wheels type car. Kim was so content knowing there was another successful children’s program seen through to the end. Her cheeks were sticky from sweet little kisses of affection the children had given to her and the other workers as they said goodbye. The puppet ministry went especially well this evening with Anna and Amy doing an excellent job. They had the puppets trying to go through a wall, using a bulldozer then up a ladder to go over it, a jackhammer to go through it and nothing works. Even using a cannon to blow through the wall would not work. Then the puppet man gets a Bible and reads where all things are possible through Jesus, he prays and the wall opens up and he goes through it and receives the gift of eternal life.

The Holy Spirit was also busy working in the adult meeting tonight. There were 12 more souls who stood at the invitation to hand their life over to Jesus. Praise be to God and His mercy.

Marcos our Evangelical van driver is going to give his testimony tomorrow at church, he is so impressed with the meetings and the way our group shows such love . He has never felt as loved as this before and wants to tell about it.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. Proverbs 11:25

Have a restful glorious Sabbath, rest in Him who has always loved you best!

Smiles to you, Jennifer Young, Mission Reporter
