Sunday morning dawned warm and beautiful, along with the National Rooster Choir in the background. I read some from my books until about 7:00 am. Breakfast was next. Work today was mostly electrical for me. I hooked up the receptacles under the computer tables and was soon out of a job. Dale had more little projects for me and sent me into the offices to tie the principal’s and treasurer’s computers into the network.
Sunday afternoon Bob decided to take us to Savanna Bight. Today we had Craig’s truck because he had gone to a soccer game. Bob was at the wheel, Eric was co-pilot, and the three Daryls rode in the back. Savanna Bight is across the island by “road” (mud path). It was about three miles across and quite an ordeal. This town is a dry dock for fishing boat repairs. It was similar to Mangrove Bight but had more houses and a better Main street. So, we toured Main Street and headed back toward Mitch. Seeing a little store on the left, we stopped to see if they had any ice cream, but they didn’t.
When we arrived back at the school, I loaded software for the computer microscope and Eric helped me to get it plugged into the CPU. We were hoping the computers would be fast enough to run the software. They were and it appeared to be working. Then we discovered that it only performed at the lowest magnification level. After careful inspection we found that the stage had been damaged during shipping and we would need to order another one to replace it. I secured the satellite wires that Eric and Dale had rerouted through a new conduit. Then I helped Eric work with some of the computers before we left for supper.
After supper we sat around and talked, took pictures of the family, and then departed. The truck groaned as it plunged down into deep ruts and came out the victor each time. I always wondered if one of those deep holes would be more of a challenge than the little Nissan could handle. Once home we turned on the TV for a little while. There were a number of channels with one English station. Can you believe a satellite dish, but running water for only maybe an hour a day? We had evening worship and prayed together and then hit the hay to await a new day of adventure.
